It would appear that I missed the blog yesterday, not sure how that happened, for those of you who check in each day on our progress and haven’t checked on the twitter feed @allegriniyacht yet, my apologies.
We had a great day as far as mileage goes, as we traveled our best distance yesterday, the wind was just right and our wonderful Parasailor worked its magic again. When i say again, the truth is the Parasailor hasn’t really been down since leaving Mindelo, with exception of two days in when the wind really picked up to 25 knots ( a little too strong even for the Parasailor) when we flew a traditional goose-wing configuration. I’ve got some great footage of the Parasailor and will do a post with video when i get decent Broadband.
The crew are all in fine spirits, food has been great, we’ve all caught up on various box sets of TV from the Drobo (another post in the making on onboard entertainment) media drive.
The night watches have been flexible and have worked for everyone, we’ve been blessed with a full moon most of the way and will still have a slither left on our last night at sea, which helps no end when you’re looking out for squalls (clouds with rain that often bring with them strong wind) and allows you to be prepared.
Today the wind dropped so that the Parasailor was flogging a bit, so we thought we’d give it rest and check it out for chafe and wear, its in great shape and it will go back up tomorrow.
At this point we have approx 700 miles left and should be in Rodney bay by the 6th December
Hi guys, loving the blog, glad to see you are actually living the dream.
Godspeed and fair winds.
