The South Beckons!

Well not just the south, the warmer south. Brunswick got a nasty blast of a cold front this week, which dropped the temperatures from the 30s and high 20s to a much cooler 14, literally overnight!

We had had a great time in Morningstar Marina, after the not so pleasant Brunswick Landing Experience. (As mentioned in the previous blog) the team, Idus, Joseph and the other guys led by Chris Ferguson, were so much more professional.

The Marina itself is in the lea of St Simons Island Just of the causeway that joins it to the Brunswick mainland. It has a large set of pontoons fed from a long wide walkway to the shore, which has a complex of Businesses, the main marina office, showers, laundry and a swimming pool overlooked by the “Coastal Kitchen Restaurant” a place that we have become more than familiar with over the last 6-7 weeks!

The food at the “Coastal Kitchen” is of an exceptionally high standard, akin to that of high-end city brasserie, but with the friendliness of a local town, Chris the manager, “the guys” Morgan, Brant, Izaiah and Ben as well as the rest of the team and staff, certainly made us feel like part of the family, probably because we were there more times than they were?

Anyway we today we set off thru the St Simons sound and onto the ICW (Intercoastal Waterway) down towards Cumberland Island near St Marys River, which is the Georgia/Florida border, Tomorrow we will move out to sea and down to St Augustine on our way to Fort Lauderdale and eventually over to the Bahamas.
